A. Effect of Terms of UseThis website and associated social media accounts (Media Sites) are operated by External Lawyers Pty Ltd (ABN 50 681 712 649) (“External Lawyers”, “We” or “Us”). By using a Media Site, the user (you) is deemed to accept the terms and conditions set out in these Terms of Use, which forms an agreement between you and Us.

These Terms of Use may be amended at any time by Us without notice and you will be deemed to have agreed to such amended Terms of Use upon your use of the Media Site following the posting of such amended Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these Terms of Use, you should immediately cease use of the Media Sites.

Browsing of our Media Site does not create a solicitor-client relationship. You are not a client of External Lawyers and we are not your solicitor until a Costs Agreement is executed by both parties and in force. Responding to an enquiry does not constitute acceptance of a Costs Agreement.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, all representations, warranties and implied terms are excluded. We also take no responsibility relating to any incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete or erroneous information on the Media Sites or for any viruses, loss of data or any other impact on your computer systems which may result from your use of a Media Site. Nothing in these Terms of Use is intended to exclude, restrict or modify your rights including under consumer protection laws such as the Australian Consumer Law which cannot be excluded, restricted or modified.

C. Ownership of content
‍The content of the Media Sites including all copyright, design rights, trade marks, names, trade names, service marks and other logos, including the External Lawyers logo and colours, images as well as the design, layout, format, font, information and other intellectual property rights contained in the Media Sites (IP), is, as between you and Us, the property of External Lawyers. All rights are reserved.

Certain images on this site are used under licence or with the permission from third party copyright owners. You are provided with access to the IP for your personal or business use only. You are not permitted to access or use the IP for any purpose which involves the commercialisation of the IP or any element of it, or for any purpose which may be illegal or which may bring External Lawyers or its directors or officers into disrepute. You are also not permitted to use, copy, adapt, reproduce, store, publish, distribute, display, perform or create any derivative work based on any of the IP, without the written consent of External Lawyers.

D. Marketing Material
‍By providing your contact details including your email to External Lawyers on a Media Site, you agree to receive commercial electronic messages from External Lawyers. You can unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe facility available at the footer of any marketing email you receive.

E. Third party products
‍The Media Sites may contain links to third party websites and applications. These are provided for your convenience only and your use of such websites and applications are subject to the terms and conditions of those websites, applications and third parties. External Lawyers takes no responsibility regarding any links or your use of such websites or applications.

General
‍If any provision of these Terms of Use is or becomes void, voidable, illegal, unlawful, prohibited or otherwise invalid or unenforceable, such provision shall be severed from these Terms of Use and will not have any effect on the remaining provisions.

These Terms of Use are exclusively governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. The parties irrevocably submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts exercising jurisdiction there.
